Two fast bowlers: A contrast

Amongst the war of words that is brewing before the Ashes, here’s a revealing contrast for you from players on either side regarding the “art” of fast bowling:

It’s the worst thing in the world when you hit somebody.  I really don’t like it at all. I **** myself when I hit Tony Frost. I was upset by that. And the same when I hurt Ian Bell.

We can forgive Steve Harmison for this – most of us would prefer not to hit someone and possibly hurt them.  But it does give food for thought when you read:

I love being intimidating, that’s what being a fast bowler is all about…You aim to intimidate the guy at the other end, and that was definitely my plan in South Africa. I really wanted to get up their batsmen and let them know we were here

Granted, Mitchell Johnson wasn’t talking specifically about hitting a batsman, but I wouldn’t expect to hear him, or any other Australian, reveal that they were afraid of hitting batsmen even if they were.

Now which of these two is likely to play a key role in deciding the series?
