Ramps continues Middlesex vendetta

This is the story of a man named Ramps and his insatiable desire to punish his former employers.  Most of us dream about what we’d like to do to our employers on our last day.  But that wasn’t enough for Ramps.  He’s been getting his own back for the best part of a whole decade, and shows no sign of finding closure.

Mark Ramprakash used to enjoy playing for Middlesex.  Then, one day, he realised that playing against them was so much more fulfilling.

Before todays match at The Oval, Ramps had scored 703 runs and two centuries in nine innings, at an average of 100.42, in the County Championship alone.  Today he scored another century (his 104th in total), and was unbeaten on 126 at stumps, so expect further punishment on day 2.  His score today is precisely half that of his best of 252 against Middlesex

As an aside, this does answer the question for all those who ask why Ramprakash is no longer considered for England – they never play against Middlesex.
