Suddenly, we will be viewing the winter tour of West Indies as a greater success having won the One Day series:

We were unlucky to have lost the test series, in reality we were a mere three wickets from winning it
Twenty20 is just a slog-a-thon and the natural order was restored during the 50-over matches
Strauss is a good captain and is starting to turn things around
Andy Flower should be given the coaching job permanently
Everything bad was Kevin Pietersen’s fault
Australia won’t stand a chance this summer
Freddie’s return saved the day

If the match had been lost, the response would have been:

We are one of the poorest teams in world cricket
The players are overpaid, lazy and arrogant
Flower and Strauss aren’t good enough
Everything else is Kevin Pietersen’s fault
Australia will walk all over us this summer
If only Freddie hadn’t got injured

My, what a fickle bunch we are, and what a difference a day makes. Oh, and sorry, KP – damned if you do, damned if you don’t I guess.

It’s funny people have already forgotten the first ODI. Well, everyone except the West Indies, I’m guessing.

Is it tough being a KP fan? Do you feel the bitterness at people’s reactions towards him raging inside you? I’m very interested.

It’s no real surprise that so many of the English do not like KP – we do not like sportsmen who speak their mind. I prefer to focus on the fact that he the best batsman in our team and never mind his nationality. That’s more an indictment of the county system than KP.
