England’s ODI win shifts opinions
Suddenly, we will be viewing the winter tour of West Indies as a greater success having won the One Day series:
- We were unlucky to have lost the test series, in reality we were a mere three wickets from winning it
- Twenty20 is just a slog-a-thon and the natural order was restored during the 50-over matches
- Strauss is a good captain and is starting to turn things around
- Andy Flower should be given the coaching job permanently
- Everything bad was Kevin Pietersen’s fault
- Australia won’t stand a chance this summer
- Freddie’s return saved the day
If the match had been lost, the response would have been:
- We are one of the poorest teams in world cricket
- The players are overpaid, lazy and arrogant
- Flower and Strauss aren’t good enough
- Everything else is Kevin Pietersen’s fault
- Australia will walk all over us this summer
- If only Freddie hadn’t got injured
My, what a fickle bunch we are, and what a difference a day makes. Oh, and sorry, KP – damned if you do, damned if you don’t I guess.
