2. Eurosport isn’t one of the basic freeview channels, but it is available on any basic Sky or Virgin Media package without any extra subscription.

   Or, you could subscribe to the online Eurosport Player, which is just £3.99 for a month. This streams all three of their channels live, as well as on-demand.

   So it’s still not the same as pre-2005 terrestrial, but it is a step in the right direction.

3. Yeah, I know what you mean. Wrote a piece on my blog about the need for Paul Collingwood not to aggravate the injury by sitting on a bench for two weeks in India.

   The issue about when players should and shouldn’t rest is an arguement that will no doubt run and run, at least due to his ECB contract the decision was made for him this time. He has been quite outspoken lately about how he needed a rest earlier in the year but I bet he wouldn’t have rested for this had he not been forced to through the injury.

   Maybe he got the particular injury giving one of the many interviews he has done recently, in particular the one in which he claimed he has just had the best year of his career statistically.

   He was also happy to rest rather than play for his county during the gap between the 4th and 5th Ashes test last summer when all the other underperforming England batsmen had to play for their own respective counties, rather ironic that he chose to have net sessions instead.

   I also wonder if an ECB media or PR person may have advised him against commenting about how disappointed he is to be missing the Champions League (unless he alredy has and I missed it).
